Chris’ journey began with a leap of faith when he left a promising career in law several years ago to follow his own heART and his passion for music. His fire for music was initially ignited shortly after he began exploring his love of singing and songwriting when he was forced to overcome a rapidly progressing hereditary hearing loss condition. Nearly two years and two miraculous surgeries later, Chris was given the gift of perfectly restored hearing and a second chance, cementing his path of a life dedicated to his artistry and to inspiring others to follow their innermost calling.
Since then, Chris has been actively using his voice to grow an international grassroots community, sharing his eclectic blend of soulful roots music, heart-opening songs and stories with audiences in Canada, Australia, the US and Europe. Over the course of his career as a touring artist and performer, he has also established himself as an inspirational voice through his widely published writing and storytelling about his own journey and creative process; and as a world-class facilitator with a passion for supporting others on their creative and spiritual paths towards living a life they love.

Chris has just released the first song and title track, “Lion” from his latest music medicine collection. The full album, produced by Joby Baker (Deva Premal & Miten, Alex Cuba) is coming this fall. The songs from the new album will be available as part of an online experience titled, FOLLOW YOUR ART: A Music Medicine journey with Chris Assaad, in which Chris will guide participants through their own creative process, sharing acquired wisdom and tools, as well as in depth insights from the making of LION. Chris’ previous release, Sensitive Soul (Medicina Mix) in collaboration with Guatemala-based tribal producer and DJ Mose, continues to ripple and resonate with listeners in yoga studios, at festivals and ecstatic dance spaces across the globe.
